The UNH Energy Conference is sponsored by the UNH Energy Laboratory and will take place June 20-21, 2008 at Kingsbury Hall on the Durham campus of the University of New Hampshire. This conference is part of a campus-wide effort to promote sustainability on both a personal and societal level, via education, research, and environmentally sound practices on USNH campuses statewide. Expected attendees include engineers, scientists, industry leaders, public policy makers, environmentalists, legal experts, educators, students, and concerned citizens.

A variety of topics will be offered during the conference, with presentations on power-generation technologies, energy storage and distribution systems, transportation, energy efficient end-usage, and public-policy and economic issues. These presentations will be about 30 minutes long and will run during two parallel sessions (click here for a tentative schedule). Meanwhile, demonstrations of actual energy technologies will be provided throughout the day, both by students and professionals.

A keynote address will be given at the end of the first day (by Dr. Paul Werbos of the National Science Foundation) while a panel discussion will conclude the conference. This closing panel will comprise energy experts from academia, industry, and the NH state government, and will discuss pertinent energy issues. A dinner/banquet is scheduled for Friday evening at the New England Center, after the keynote address (RSVP required).

There is no fee to attend this conference, but participants are asked to pre-register using the link below. Friday evening's dinner/banquet to be held at the New England Center is free to the first 150 who register. If you would like to participate in the conference please contact Dr. Gordon Kraft.  If you would like to sponsor or make a donation to the Energy Conference or the UNH Energy Laboratory, donations and can be mailed to the UNH Foundation - Energy Lab, c/o Matthew Carlyon, Elliott Alumni Center, University of New Hampshire, Durham, NH  03824.  Your donation is tax deductible.
