Description of history
Historical data on carbon dioxide emissions from fuel combustion by sector (commercial, industrial, residential, transportation, and electric utilites) and state (VT, NH, MA, ME, RI, CT) were obtained from United States Environmental Protection Agency. Both the data, and information describing it, are freely available on the EPA website http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/emissions/state_energyco2inv.html.
