NH Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Fund- Carbon Solutions New England
In 2009, thirty grants totaling $17.7 million were awarded to NH businesses, non-profits, municipalities, and state institutions through the NH Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Fund (GHGERF). In 2010, six grants totaling $13.4 million were awarded. GHGERF is funded by proceeds from the auction of carbon dioxide allowances allocated to the State via the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI). The grants are being used to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the State.
CSNE has a contract with the NH Public Utilities Commission to: (1) track the energy savings, greenhouse gas emissions reductions, costs, and economic benefits of all of the projects funded through GHGERF; (2) independently verify the results; (3) provide baseline information (with annual reporting) to determine the effectiveness of different types of projects funded by GHGERF.
