NH Climate Action Plan - Carbon Solutions New England
Carbon Solutions New England performed an integrated carbon dioxide and economic analysis to assess the impact of the actions proposed by the NH Climate Change Task Force.
CSNE integrated climate science with economics to assess over 120 different proposed action items over the course of 2008. The analysis of these action items is available in a transparent format that highlights the assumptions and methods used to calculate the carbon dioxide reductions and the economic costs and benefits.
In conducting the analysis, CSNE reported out annual carbon dioxide reductions for different action items in 2012, 2025 and 2050. The economic analysis did not report out specific dollar values but provides a magnitude of economic costs and benefits. Also considered in the economic analysis was the timing of the estimated costs and benefits and also the parties anticipated to be impacted by the different action items.
Appendix 6 provides a table summarizing the carbon dioxide reductions and the economic metrics for each action item considered. In Appendix 7, and Appendix 8 the assumptions and methods used in the analysis are presented.
In addition, the CSNE NH Decarbonizer can be used to visualize the impact of different action items.
